Description: This is a small to moderate sized tree.Leaves are cordate shaped with acute tips. Flowers are white in colour and solitary in leafy axils. And there 5 sepals and petals. Fruits are drupe, yellowish orange  to red in colour enclosing a single seed and the flesh is orange coloured.

Chemical composition: Apricot fruits contain significant levels of various phytochemicals such as vitamins, carotenoids and polyphenols, which contribute significantly to their taste, color and nutritive values.
