Description: This plant is an annual, erect and climbing plant and grows up to 3-4 feet in height. Its leaves are thick and oval. It has a bisexual flower. Fruits contain single seed that is oblong about 5-6mm long and reddish brown to dark brown in color.

Chemical Constituents: Chitranone, Plumbagin, 3- Chloroplumbagin, droserone, Elliptinone, Zeylanone and Zeylinone, Maritone, Plumbagicacid.

Properties: Used as carminative, improves appetite, and stimulates digestive system. Boosts immunity and used in recurrent cough, asthma.
