Description: The evergreen bitter orange tree bears dark-green, leathery leaves and thorns on branches. The tree can reach a height of 10 metres. Its flower can give off nice fragrance. The fruit is smaller than sweet orange but very similar to it. The fruit flesh tastes sour, while the peel and the skin surrounding the fruit segments have a strong bitter taste.
Chemical Constituents: The bitter orange peel contains limonene, flavonoids, triterpenes, vitamin C, carotene and pectin.
Properties: It helps reduce skin fragility and has a toning action on skin. It is a good skin conditioner, make up remover, facila cleanser and exfoliant.
