Description: Is also indigenous to India; it is found throughout the warmer parts of the country up to an altitude of 2000 m in the Himalayan region. It grows well on wastelands and in fields after the rainy season. It is found in Australia, China, Egypt, Pakistan, Sudan, SriLanka, South Africa, USA and in several countries of the Middle East.

Properties: This plant has been used for its anti-diabetic and diuretic properties and also for pain relief, anti-inflammatory activity, and treating indigestion. It is an effective diuretic, and can suppress the proliferation of immune cells.. Boerhaavia diffusa also has an anti-proliferative effect on some cancer cells, which means it prevents them from spreading. This anti-cancer effect comes from the isolated bioactive purnavarine. Boerhaavia diffusa also has anti-oxidative mechanisms which shows that Boerhaavia diffusa is a potent anti-diabetic agent. This plant rejuvenates liver and detoxifies it. It clears the lungs and reduces cough, asthma etc. It rejuvenates male reproductive system and acts as an aphrodisiac. This increases libido, erection and quality and quantity of semen. It detoxifies skin and clears it of infections. This plant cleanses the kidneys and helps to get rid of renal calculi (kidney stones).
